Starbucks and Dominique Ansel Bakery are the latest food chains to get into NFTs.

May 05 2022

Starbucks and Dominique Ansel Bakery are the latest food chains to get into NFTs. From Taco Bell to McDonald’s, YPulse’s Buying Into Crypto and NFTs trend report looks at some of the food and beverage brands that have launched NFT drops—and a quarter of Gen Z and Millennials tell us they would buy an NFT from a food brand. This week, Starbucks announced that it plans to launch an NFT collection later this year, where the individual digital collectibles will provide buyers “with access to exclusive content experiences and other benefits.” Meanwhile, Dominique Ansel Bakery, known for its delicious cronuts, debuted the Cronut(R) NFT collection to celebrate the bakery’s ninth anniversary. The collection is launching on OpenSea and will feature 60 NFTs, with five flavors and a “special collage” of the bakery’s May flavors, limited to 10 editions of each. Each Cronut(R) NFT unlocks special perks and access, like early access to new pastry launches, or a pass to skip the line during their next visit. (TechCrunchHypebeast)
