Bretman Rock hosted the first music awards show in the metaverse, featuring a performance from Lizzo. Logitech launched the Song Breaker Awards last year to honor young creators whose songs went viral on TikTok. But this year’s ceremony took place in Roblox, making it, according to Logitech, “the first music awards show to be hosted in the metaverse.” The company created a pre-show experience inside Roblox, where users were able to use Creator Coins to unlock exclusive emotes. This year’s honorees included Noah Beck and Walker Hayes, while selected Song Breakers like GAYLE and Lizzo were tapped to perform during the virtual event, with Lizzo debuting a new song.
