Snap and Live Nation are bringing Snapchat’s augmented reality experiences to concerts and festivals. YPulse has been telling brands that they need an AR plan to reach young consumers, and Snap and Live Nation just signed a multiyear deal to bring Snapchat AR experiences, which will be created with artists, to fans at Live Nation concerts and festivals. As live music events start ramping up again, the collaboration will let fans use Snapchat at select Live National music events to access “custom-built AR experiences.” According to the companies, the experiences will allow concertgoers to try on and purchase merch, find friends in the audience, discover exclusive landmarks on festival grounds, and more. Snapchatters will also be able to share content generated by the AR Lenses at live events with friends and on their Snapchat Stories. The two companies are hoping that Snapchat AR will become a part of live shows “in the same way that large video screens at concerts have become integrated into performances.” (Variety)
