Nearly one-half of Gen Z say AR lenses and filters help them feel more connected to brands. According to Snap Inc.’s recent Snapchat Generation Report, Gen Z Snapchatters are looking for connection with friends and brands. The report found that 70% of Gen Z Snapchatters feel it’s important for brands to build connections with them, with nearly one-half saying using augmented reality (AR) lenses and filters help them feel more connected to brands. Fifty-two percent have connected with others over a brand they like and 50% have used social platforms to investigate recommendations or opinions from friends and family. When it comes to commerce, 92% of Gen Z are interested in using AR for shopping and 88% are interested in using AR to try on makeup or clothes. As Gen Z and Millennials continue to fuel social commerce, creating online shopping experiences is key. YPulse’s shopping and retail research shows 79% of young shoppers are interested in augmented reality try-ons. (Adweek)
