Less than six months after dropping Nikeland in Roblox, Nike says the activation has helped it reach millions of users across the world. We told you about the Nikeland activation in Roblox, a virtual world modeled after Nike’s headquarters where users can shop virtual products and play minigames. Nikeland has been open to Roblox users since mid-November, and Nike notes nearly seven million people from more than 200 countries have visited its metaverse superplex. Since opening, users have had the chance to interact with LeBron James during NBA All-Star Week, deck out their avatars in virtual Nike gear, and play endless minigames. The brand’s CEO and President notes Nike now considers Web 3 ventures a key revenue strategy, which is clear as it recently acquired metaverse sneaker market RTFKT. Our Metaverse trend research found that 88% of Gen Z and 70% of Millennials play a video game that brings them into a virtual world, and brands have a major opportunity to show up in virtual worlds by offering digital clothing and creating their own in-game activations.
