Naomi Osaka is a crypto ambassador now, marking one of the first major female-focused celebrity partnerships with a crypto firm. YPulse’s finance / spending monitor research found that 9% of young females invest in cryptocurrencies as an additional stream of income—compared to 27% of young males. To increase the number of women investing in crypto, FTX tapped Naomi Osaka to serve as a celebrity ambassador and produce content that “focus[es] on bringing women onto the platform and into the future of Web3.” Some of biggest crypto ad campaigns have largely been aimed at men (like FTX’s Super Bowl spot with Larry David or Crypto.com’s campaign with Matt Damon), and Osaka’s partnership with FTX is a major step in “breaking down barriers to entry” for young women.
