Fashion brand Selkie isn’t just going viral on TikTok; it’s winning when it comes to inclusive sizing.

Fashion brand Selkie isn’t just going viral on TikTok; it’s winning when it comes to inclusive sizing. The tag #Selkie counts more than 46M views on TikTok and is filled with videos from TikTokers talking about the brand’s beautiful, cottagecore-esque puffy dresses (also a Revolve favorite among young people). The brand’s puffy dress aesthetic is a lot like Lirika Matoshi’s viral strawberry dress, and Selkie has been leading the way for more inclusive extended sizing, which goes up to a 5X. Selkie frequently puts plus size models at the center of its ad campaigns, social media channels, and editorials, showing that size diversity encompasses everything from height, to shape, and build. April Tillman, a fashion blogger who typically wears a size 3X-4X says Selkie is “phenomenal” compared to other plus size offerings she has tried, crediting the brand for including every style in every size up to 5X. Selkie continues to work with activists to expand its sizing chart and say they’ve consulted with boutiques to inspire them to stock up on sizes up to 5X. YPulse’s Representation in Action trend research shows 44% of Gen Z and 36% of Millennials say they want to see their body measurements represented in the media / ads they consume, and clothing brands play an influential role in fostering a more body inclusive future.
