“Fortnite” is taking its next step in the virtual entertainment space with the launch of a digital art gallery.

Jan 24 2022

Fortnite is taking its next step in the virtual entertainment space with the launch of a digital art gallery. YPulse told you how Fortnite has been hosting virtual concerts to engage with young people in the new era of live content, and now the video game is hosting more virtual events, including a Kaws pop art exhibit created by pop artist Brian Donnelly (a.k.a. Kaws) whose art is best recognized by the Mickey Mouse-like Kaws “Companion” character. The exhibition depicts the IRL display at the real Serpentine in London, and instead of tucking the activation away inside the Creative mode as its own section, Fortnite made the Kaws art gallery the main hub of the Creative mode, meaning players are immediately dropped into the gallery where they can wander around and pick games and experiences to try. According to Kaws, creating activations like the Fortnite pop art gallery is a way “ to throw bridges to a new generation” by introducing them to art experiences they may not have the chance to see IRL.
