Snapchat is hosting a first-of-its-kind virtual holiday market for brands on Black Friday. Using its augmented reality technology, Snapchat’s holiday market will feature six shopping experiences from Amazon Prime Video, Coca-Cola, Hollister, Under Armour, Verizon, and Walmart. Snapchatters can browse each brand’s products via their custom virtual stores and purchase items in-app. Users can access the experience through the Lens Carousel, and participating brands will use Snap Lenses to help shoppers discover apparel, gift ideas, and holiday discounts. Shoppable content is booming this holiday season as brands find new and engaging ways to connect with young shoppers, and YPulse’s holiday shopping research shows 51% of Gen Z and 39% of Millennials find gift ideas for others on social media.
