Walmart is debuting shoppable holiday experiences with Yahoo. Featuring an augmented reality game, shoppable influencer video content, and more, Walmart’s and Yahoo’s “Holiday with Heart” campaign is aimed at creating new inspiration and opportunities for discovery for holiday shoppers. Consumers can play an AR “Play for Joy” game on Instagram, mimicking claw machine games where players can attempt to collect as many virtual Walmart gifts before the timer runs out; a new add-to-cart tool will roll out to create a more seamless shopping experience; and two interactive video series, “Gifting to Win” with blogger / influencer Taryn Newton and “We Heart the Holidays” with blogger / entrepreneur Mattie James, will debut across Yahoo Life and In the Know by Yahoo. Walmart is also investing in livestream shopping on Twitter with a Cyber Deals live event kicking off November 28 where shoppers can watch a live broadcast, shop featured products, and post tweets about the event to engage with shoppers. Jason Derulo will host the livestream as he introduces shoppers to deals across electronics, home goods, apparel, and more categories. YPulse’s holiday shopping research shows that Walmart is the No. 1 store that young holiday shoppers are buying their gifts from this year, and introducing shoppable content is one way retailers are transforming their strategies to reach young consumers this holiday.
