Walmart and Gap are launching a furniture collection. Gap Home first came to Walmart’s site in June, offering an assortment of décor, tabletop, and bedding options. Now, the two brands are introducing a new line, Gap Home Furniture, consisting of more than 150 items including couches, ottomans, TV stands, headboards, and rugs, that will be exclusively available on Walmart’s website. A capsule bedding collection is also coming to Walmart stores in November. Anthony Soohoo (Executive VP, Home, Walmart U.S.) notes that Gap Home has received “fantastic feedback from consumers,” making Gap Furniture’s launch the next big step for Gap in the home design space as it brings even more décor offerings to the scene. YPulse’s Shopping for the Home research found that Walmart is the top place young consumers are shopping for home goods. (Chain Store Age)
