Facebook—sorry we mean Meta—is doubling down on VR in its new phase of life. The social network officially goes by Meta now, and has introduced a slew of new product developments to prove its investment in making the metaverse happen. Multiple AR/VR projects are in the works including Project Cambria (a “next gen all-in-one VR hardware”); Project Nazaré (Meta’s first full AR glasses); an expansion of the Horizon platform via Horizon Home to enable virtual social hangouts; and Presence Platform, a product that will help developers build experiences on Quest. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced these plans at the company’s virtual Connect conference, once again explaining how Meta’s new developments will tackle “the next frontier” (a.k.a. the metaverse). YPulse’s most recent social media research shows that while Facebook is the leading social platform with Millennials, it’s lagging behind when it comes to Gen Z. (Marketing Dive) |
