Netflix and Starbucks are teaming up on a social content series that will explore how books are becoming hit films and TV shows.

Netflix and Starbucks are teaming up on a social content series that will explore how books are becoming hit films and TV shows. With book clubs (not to mention BookTok) experiencing a surge in interest during the pandemic, Netflix is working with Starbucks on “But Have You Read the Book?,” a monthly video series hosted by Orange Is the New Black star Uzo Aduba that will explore conversations with cast, creators, and authors who have adapted books into films/TV series. Starbucks will serve as the “set” for each episode, reminding consumers how the OG coffee joint is like a “third home” for people to build community, while Netflix hopes to reach (young) consumers fueling the buzz for adaptations for Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit. The first episode will cover Nella Larsen’s Passing following the film adaptation hitting Netflix on November 10, and the first episode airs on November 16 on Netflix’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
