Macy’s will now offer a weekly, livestream shopping experience. The retailer recently updated its mobile app, adding new design and navigation features including improved product filters, personalized recommendations, and a streamlined returns process. A weekly livestreaming shopping experience, Macy’s Live, is also included in the app update in an attempt to attract consumers with a QVC- and HSN-like shopping experience. Consumers can chat with Macy’s stylists and hosts, see real-time product reviews and recommendations, and get an intimate look at Macy’s offerings during the live event. Livestream shopping continues to grow with retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s testing their own live events, and YPulse’s shopping and retail research shows that 57% of Gen Z and 69% of Millennials are interested in livestream shopping.
