TikTok is (no surprise here) becoming young people’s go-to entertainment platform. Insights from a new TikTok usage survey among more than 7,000 global TikTokers found that users describe time spent on TikTok as “time well spent.” Users also see the platform as more entertaining than watching TV, listening to podcasts, reading, or streaming videos as they’re spending the majority of their entertainment time on TikTok, and 92% of TikTok users say that after watching a TikTok, they take action (whether that’s liking/commenting on a clip, sharing it with friends, following a brand, or purchasing/researching a product). The survey findings also reveal that Gen Z is leading the TikTok wave, and YPulse’s Social Media Deep Dive trend research shows that 65% of Gen Z TikTok users and 53% of Millennial users say entertaining content is a top reason they visit the app. (Social Media Today)
