Slinky is officially on social media and is looking for young users to help craft its new jingle. The 75-year-old brand is making its debut on social media just in time for National Slinky Day (August 30) in a new campaign asking social media users to help remix a new jingle. Slinky is running 30-second ad spots across TikTok and Instagram that direct viewers to a SoundCloud page featuring assets of the original jingle they can remix into their own tune and post online using #SlinkyRemix to enter the brand’s jingle contest. Select fans will receive a pack of Slinky gear, and one winner’s jingle will be chosen for Slinky’s national advertising campaign. YPulse told you how 100-year-old brands like Colgate and Levi’s have been reinventing themselves to reach Gen Z and Millennials, and Slinky’s jingle contest is mixing nostalgia with modern technology to make a play for the next gen.
