Audius is the first streaming service to partner with TikTok. The blockchain-powered service has experienced steady growth since its launch in 2018, and now that “crypto” and “NFTs” have taken over everyone’s newsfeed Audius has boomed—rising from less than a million monthly active users in January to five million in August. Now, Audius is teaming up with TikTok for a “first-of-its-kind partnership” that lets artists quickly and directly upload their music as “TikTok Sounds.” Audius’ Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Forrest Browning explains that “any artists can take a song they already have on Audius and just export it over to TikTok in one click,” and while there are already back-route ways for getting music on the app, TikTok’s partnership with Audius will make it less “clunky.” YPulse’s music data shows that 64% of Gen Z and 39% of Millennials say they have discovered new music on TikTok, and with more than 100,000 artists on Audius, the platform’s TikTok integration will help increase both indie-level and major-label artists’ exposure.
