Fabletics is teaming up with ThredUp on a new resale effort. The athleisure brand is the latest to team up with the resale platform, allowing shoppers to send in both their Fabletics gear and non-Fabletics apparel to be sorted, and either be resold or recycled by ThredUp. Consumers who sell clothes to ThredUp will have the option to receive a payout in Fabletics store credit (whether they sent in Fabletics items or not) which will be 15% higher than a cash payout—a major opportunity for Fabletics to reach new consumers. With climate change a top cause young people are worried about, YPulse’s sustainability research shows that 54% of Gen Z and 46% of Millennials believe brands should be making their products reusable, and introducing recycling programs is a top way clothing brands can take action.
