Millennials want to work for companies that support their social values. According to research from Atlassian Corporation and PwC Australia, 80% of U.S. workers say companies should be taking action to address society’s problems, and Millennials are more likely to believe that a company’s values should align with their own. While 51% of Millennial employees say that they are worried about future work opportunities, 60% of those who are worried would still leave a job over “a clash of values.” Racism, LGBTQ discrimination, and gender equality are some of the top causes young consumers are passionate about according to YPulse’s activism research, and Atlassian’s co-founder notes that ignoring the social and cultural issues employees care about could hinder them from attracting future talent.
