TikTok may be adding job recruitment to the platform’s many features. YPulse has been telling you how Gen Z and Millennials are going to TikTok for career advice, fitness tips, and to build community with like-minded users. The app is taking note of what information young people are consuming, and according to a report from Axios, they’re testing a tool that will enable brands to recruit candidates through TikTok clips. While the recruitment platform won’t be integrated into the app itself, users can access it via a separate webpage that will link back to TikTok where candidates can apply for a job by uploading a video to the webpage platform instead of sending in a traditional resume. YPulse’s Social Media Deep Dive trend research shows that 56% of Gen Z and 34% of Millennials are using the app, and it’s not just for entertaining dance videos. Short-form video is what gets users engaged, and they’re showing up on the app to educate themselves on topics they want to learn more about like the news, science, and even mental health. With #careeradvice on TikTok generating more than 80 million video views per day according to the app, it makes sense for the platform to dabble in an area that will potentially open up a first-of-its-kind recruitment platform aimed at young people.
