Burger King is teaming up with Angry Birds for a custom AR experience. YPulse has said that all brands should have an augmented reality (AR) plan to connect with consumers. Now Burger King is stepping into AR, and they’re the first to team up with the creators of Angry Birds (aka Rovio Entertainment) and Zappar for an immersive experience as part of the fast food chain’s King Jr kids meals. Using Zappar’s WebAR technology and QR codes featured on the box packaging of King Jr kids meals, Angry Bird plush toys, and in-restaurant signage at participating locations, the AR experience launches mobile users into a virtual world of Angry Birds where they are tasked to protect their eggs from slime-throwing Hatchlings.
