Vaccines are causing a wedding boom after a year of postponed ceremonies.

May 13 2021

Vaccines are causing a wedding boom after a year of postponed ceremonies. YPulse reported that getting married/engaged is one of the top 10 life milestones Gen Z and Millennials are looking forward to in 2021, and as more people get vaccinated wedding celebrations are becoming a reality for many young couples. According to The Knot, nearly one-half of couples planning weddings in 2020 postponed their entire celebration or reception, and IBISWorld notes that the wedding industry is ready for a comeback after sales dropped more than 20% in 2020. Now, this comeback is off to an extremely strong start, with newly engaged couples and those who postponed their celebrations in 2020 competing to book venues and services as availability fills up. Wedding caterers, venues, and bridal shops are experiencing a surge in demand. But while the vaccine is making weddings possible again, YPulse has found that some pandemic wedding trends might be here to stay. (WSJ)
