TikTok is adding new safety features to help parents understand how the app can protect their kids. YPulse’s research shows that 29% of Millennial parents say their kids are using TikTok, and as more underage users flock to social media, TikTok is introducing new Safety Center features to show parents how the app can protect their children from harm and abuse. TikTok’s updated Safety Center features several new resources including the Guardians Guide, which explains how the app’s tools can help users have a positive experience, videos outlining how TikTok enforces its Community Guidelines, links to resources on issues like digital literacy and well-being, and a bullying prevention guide. Industry experts like The National Association for Media Literacy Education, the National Eating Disorder Association, the National PTA, and more worked with TikTok to develop the guides.
