Fast food chains like Starbucks and Burger King are testing reusable packaging—something young consumers say they’re interested in. YPulse’s recent Sustainability behavioral report found that 47% of Millennials and 57% of Gen Z say brands should be creating more eco-friendly products. QSR brands in particular have a lot to combat when it comes to addressing food packaging waste, and Starbucks, Burger King, and Popeyes are introducing pilot programs to implement reusable packaging and limit single-use containers. According to research conducted by a Harris Poll survey, Gen Z and Millenials visit QSRs the most and 77% are willing to try reusable options from fast food brands, compared to 55% of consumers overall. Young consumers want brands to know they care about climate change, and they’re watching how the food industry continues to address pollution and waste. (Adweek)
