Snap is ramping up their AR shopping features with new tech that finds users’ clothing size through the phone. Social shopping is exploding, and through Snap’s recent purchase of German-based apparel size-recommendation engine Fit Analytics, which helps online shoppers with virtually sizing, Snapchat wants to continue targeting that young demographic as well as build on their massive growth. The firm’s Fit Finder product is available to over 18K retailers and brands. Over the next several years, Snapchat “is projecting top-line increases of at least 50% annually,” and they view “clothing as a massive opportunity.” YPulse’s social media monitor and marketing report found that 21% of 13-39-year-olds are currently open to buying products on Snapchat.
