Contrary to headlines (and TikTok battles) Gen Z and Millennials don’t actually hate each other.

Mar 11 2021

Contrary to headlines (and TikTok battles) Gen Z and Millennials don’t actually hate each other. “Intergenerational spats are as old as Socrates,” and the recent sparring over side parts and skinny jeans are one the first times these feuds are playing out on social media. But the differences between the generations coming to light are just examples of differing definitions of “cool” resulting in growing up in very different times, and the fact that Gen Z and Millennials “are interested in different trends.” To Gen Z, certain clothes and hairstyles now feel outdated, which “is a natural part of the tides of fashion.” YPulse’s Generational Blame Game trend report actually found that 62% of 13-39-year-olds say they want to break down stereotypes generations have of each other.
