Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is a requirement (not just a preference) for young job seekers.

Feb 19 2021

Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is a requirement (not just a preference) for young job seekers. Young people expect brands to keep their promises for implementing diversity and inclusivity, but they also expect it of the companies they work for. Following last year’s Black Lives Matter protests, more young prospective employees started looking beyond just getting a role and paycheck, even if the pandemic and recession limited their options. Gen Z and Millennial applicants have started looking to see if prospective employers have a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) officer on staff or “an emphasis” on DEI programming. They’re also paying close attention to Glassdoor, Indeed, and LinkedIn pages to make sure that employees of color haven’t posted negative reviews in the last year. (The Washington Post)
