Brands are using OnlyFans to monetize social media content (in a non-risqué way.) Subscription-only service OnlyFans took off last year, and since then, more brands have started jumping on to promote themselves—in a safe for work way, of course. During New York Fashion Week, fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff joined the platform to show off behind-the-scenes footage from her latest show. According to OnlyFans, Minkoff is the first designer to use their platform in this way—and it could be the start of a new trend. OnlyFans users pay anywhere from $3.99 to $50 for a monthly subscription for certain accounts. At the end of last year, Vice Media created an account on the platform featuring exclusive weekly videos for $4.99. While some analysts say brands wanting to make their mark on OnlyFans will have to be willing to have their content alongside far more risqué stuff, it could be a beneficial opportunity “to engage superfans with exclusive content.” (Adweek)
