TikTok launched a program to support Black creators and musicians. As companies follow through with their commitments to support Black Lives Matter and diversity, the social app announced this week that it is debuting the new incubator program “TikTok for Black Creatives.” The three-month initiative will focus on assisting 100 Black creators and musicians develop their talents to help “open doors for them to reach new heights in their careers.” According to TikTok, Black creators “have been a driving force for our community, from starting trends to fostering connection to introducing new ways to entertain and inspire others.” The launch of the program comes several months after Black users spoke out about censorship and their content not being promoted at the same rate as white users.
