A new viral filter on TikTok lets users turn any object into a cartoon character. With the new “Cartoonify” filter, users on the social app can point at any object, from chapsticks to Rubix cubes to cars, and turn them into animated stick figures with expressive faces. Users can move or rotate the objects, and even have the option to animate “multiple objects” (like cups and plates) at the same time so they can “have a conversation with one another.” Recently, young consumers have been getting really into animation, and the quick popularity of this filter shouldn’t come as a surprise. Last year, Snapchat launched an anime filter that was instantly a hit followed by another filter that used turned users into a Disney princess—both of which were used and went viral on TikTok as well. (Distractify)
