2020 changed the way people watched TV. YPulse’s TV and entertainment report found that 68% of 13-39-year-olds are watching TV shows on streaming services on a weekly basis. Sure, while the time spent watching TV has shifted during lockdowns, how they’re watching has also changed significantly. Young viewers got better at “binge-watching whole networks,” turning to shows like Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ or The Flight Attendant on HBO Max, and completely shunned services like Quibi. Some watched more shows, like Verzuz, on Instagram (our media consumption research found that 35% of 13-39-year-olds use Instagram to watch video content weekly). Others also explored watching new series with friends virtually over Zoom or Netflix Party. (Fast Company)
