Ikea is pledging to make 50% of their food plant-based. We told you how more fast food brands are adopting plant-based meat as young consumers continue to accelerate the trend, and IKEA is joining in. The retailer announced that they will be cutting down on red meat and amping up their plant-based food options in a rollout of new products over the next five years. Their pledge is to make half of their cafe meals plant-based and 80% non-red meat by 2025. Eighty percent of their packaged goods, which are sold at Swedish Food Markets, will also be plant-based within that time frame. (Adweek)
