Luxury fashion brands are investing in K-pop mega-group BLACKPINK. Amid the success of BLACKPINK’s debut album, the girl group has partnered with brands across industries, and now luxury fashion names are beginning to align themselves with the stars. Recently, LVMH tapped the band as ambassadors across its Dior, CELINE, Saint Laurent, and Chanel brands. BLACKPINK has a combined 132 million Instagram followers, making them massive influencers, and fan accounts also dissect their style, with fashion brands eager to dress them for exposure and related sales bumps. In recent years, K-pop music (a.k.a the “Hallywu Wave”) has taken off among young music fans with BTS and BLACKPINK currently leading the way, and YPulse’s Borderless Culture report found that 36% of 13-17-year-old females follow K-pop.
