Blockbuster is partnering with Airbnb to throw a ’90s-themed sleepover for guests. For young consumers who are desperate for some ‘90s nostalgia, Airbnb and the last Blockbuster retail location in the world (located in Bend, Oregon) are throwing a sleepover party just for them. Starting next month, up to four guests can rent the store for a limited time on Airbnb for three one-night stays—and for only $4. The inside of the store has been transformed into “a 1990s living room” with a pull-out couch, bean bags, unlimited snacks and drinks, and classic ‘90s flicks. Renters will have the space completely to themselves, and everything will be carefully cleaned between visits. According to Blockbuster’s manager, they came up with the idea for the event to show appreciation for their local community who have supported and helped keep them in business during the pandemic. Post-sleepovers, the living room set-up will remain open for a short time and customers will have the chance to see it during regular store hours. (Engadget, Mashable)
