Face masks for children are this year’s “must-have” back to school item. YPulse found that 36% of 16-44-year-olds plan to buy personal protection items like hand sanitizers, gloves, and face masks, and they’re becoming just as essential as pencils and notebooks. Because of the increased interest, brands like Crayola, Old Navy, and Disney have been selling “colorful masks” for children as a part of their back to school offerings. Larger quantities of masks for kids can be found on Amazon, while Etsy is full of face shields with cartoons and animals. While some find the masks to be “dystopian,” experts believe they’re also an important step toward some “semblance of normalcy.” (NYTimes)
