Triller is waiting to become the next TikTok as more companies ban the app.

Jul 17 2020

Triller is waiting to become the next TikTok as more companies ban the app. As the TikTok bans grow, other apps aren’t wasting any time trying to take its place. We know what platform young users would most likely head to instead if a U.S.-wide ban were to be successful—but there’s also a lot of opportunity for other video platforms to grab users. Cue Triller: a video-sharing platform that has been “waiting in the wings” since news about the potential TikTok ban broke. The app lets users create lip-syncing music videos, reportedly has more than 80 million downloads, and has become the most downloaded app in India’s App Store following the official ban of TikTok in that country. Celebrities like Cardi B and Marshmello have also been using it to create their own music videos. (Axios, Los Angeles Business Journal, Music Business Worldwide)
