Byte and Snapchat are taking aim at TikTok in the wake of ban news.

Jul 15 2020

Byte and Snapchat are taking aim at TikTok in the wake of ban news. We told you how young consumers feel about the potential TikTok ban, and several companies have been springing into action to take the popular app’s spot. According to Sensor Tower, Vine successor Byte skyrocketed to the top of the App Store last week with 126,000 global downloads in a single day, with a majority of downloads (91.2%) coming from the U.S. By Thursday, the number had shot up to 622,000 downloads. Meanwhile, Snapchat is testing a “new experience” that lets users move through the app’s public content in a vertical swiping motion that feels very similar to TikTok. (Adweek, TechCrunch)
