The fashion industry will have to “rip up nearly every old rule” to survive post-COVID.

Jun 04 2020

The fashion industry will have to “rip up nearly every old rule” to survive post-COVID. As lockdowns began to ease, many fashion brands will have to lead with “smart innovation” and embrace “rapid shape shifting” going forward. Quarantine has changed how young consumers dress and shop. Fashion brands will need to be more creative and relaxed with the products they create and “embrace fluidity,” as well as make decisions on whether they want to add PPE to their lineup. As social distancing measures continue, brands should consider implementing augmented reality into their marketing plan. Already, designers and producers of fashion shows have been making plans to “combine video, artificial intelligence and virtual reality” with their models and physical locations.
