TikTokers are making money in their sleep—literally. Teens on TikTok are livestreaming themselves while they’re sleeping—and thousands are tuning in. Some viewers are even donating via the app’s live feature, where digital “coins” can be cashed out for money. While the trend itself is new to TikTok it’s a concept that has been seen on livestream platforms YouNow and Twitch for the last couple of years. YPulse’s media consumption survey shows that 48% of 13-39-year-olds watch live streams weekly. (NYTimes)
