The VSCO app is wading into TikTok’s territory—by adding videos. Over the past year, video editing on the platform has doubled, however users couldn’t publish or share videos directly. Their recent acquisition of tech company Rylo will allow VSCO to have advanced video capabilities and make them a serious competitor in the video market. Last year, the app went viral for its VSCO girl meme and has over 20 million users, but with this new pivot into video, they’re hoping to capture the attention of the “TikTok generation.” (TechCrunch)
