The VCSO app continues to flourish, thanks to “Gen Z approved” features. According to the company, 75% of their registered users and 55% of its paying subscribers are younger than 25-years-old—and this year the app became nearly synonymous with their young user-base thanks to the viral “VSCO girl” meme. Unlike other social media platforms, VSCO isn’t selling ads or using customer data, and doesn’t have including likes, comments, or follower counts. But providing a respite from the popularity race could be a part of their appeal. The app is on track to surpass 4 million paying users by 2020—an increase from 2 million in late 2018. (TechCrunch)
