Nickelodeon’s kid-friendly NFL playoffs coverage is back—and it’s uniting young and old fans alike. YPulse told you about Nickelodeon’s slime-filled NFL playoffs coverage and how it brought much needed “delight to viewers’ lives” when sports fans were unable to watch games in person last year. Back by popular demand, the coverage has returned for this year’s NFL playoffs, and based on fans’ reactions on Twitter, it’s turning out to be another delightful hit for all. The broadcast featured a game between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers, adding AR effects like slime cannons that spray the endzone whenever a team scores. Nickelodeon also brought real life slime to the game (82 gallons worth) to douse players of the winning team. The channel has built a robust slate of kid-friendly NFL coverage via NFL Slimetime and The SpongeBob SportsPants Countdown Special, so it’s only a matter of time before Nick rolls out the slime cannons at the Super Bowl (or so we hope).
