Netflix is planning a 3-hour hype event dubbed “Tudum.”Appropriately named after the Pavlovian drumbeat tied to Netflix’s iconic brand, “Tudum” will hype more than 70 Netflix titles, including series like Stranger Things, Bridgerton, The Witcher, Cobra Kai, and films like Red Notice, Don’t Look Up, and The Harder They Fall during the streaming event on September 25. The fan event will also reveal first-look clips, new trailers, and host interactive panels and conversations with stars and creators (Jennifer Aniston, Millie Bobby Brown, and Lily Collins are just a few celebrities Netflix has confirmed will be at the event). “Tudum” will be available to watch on all of Netflix’s YouTube channels and on Twitter and Twitch—everywhere but Netflix itself. Netflix’s YouTube channels will also stream a preshow starting at 5 A.M. on the day of the “Tudum” event focusing on Korean, Indian, and anime titles. Netflix’s “Tudum” follows its successful “Geeked Week” hosted earlier this summer, signaling how the streaming service is expanding to engage with (young) connect viewers. YPulse’s Clicking on Community trend research found that 78% of 13-39-year-olds who are in a fandom think brands should listen by creating more products and events around the fandom, and hosting online events built around a brand are a top way to peak their interest.
