The NBA is developing more original podcasts to court new fans. A new deal with iHeartMedia will bring a slate of original shows about the league’s greatest moments to the podcast world—joining the growing list of NBA podcasts. But instead of creating a talk podcast, the league is bringing its archives and vault of recordings about players and historical moments to the new shows. iHeartMedia and the NBA are currently developing their first slate of shows (including daily programs and a limited 10-episode series) which will be announced in the months ahead. With the NBA being one of young people’s favorite sports leagues, more original podcasts about the association could engage with fans beyond game time, and reach new ones along the way. (Bloomberg)
