It’s looking like that travel rebound is happening, as airlines report “encouraging signs.” YPulse predicted that Gen Z and Millennials’ pent up wanderlust would lead to a return to travel this year, and our recent travel research showed 43% of young consumers already have travel planned for after they are vaccinated. Now all three of the biggest airlines in the U.S. say recovery is happening “faster than expected.” United reports that domestic travel will surpass pre-pandemic levels this summer, and American Airlines says business travel and long international flights are “poised for improvement.” As travel restrictions lift in Europe, the shift will likely accelerate.
