LGBTQ+ Gen Zs are finding solace in online communities.

LGBTQ+ Gen Zs are finding solace in online communities. Our Finding Love Post-COVID trend research found that Gen Z is far more likely than Millennials to identify as LGBTQ+, and they’re more likely to be passionate about LGBTQ+ discrimination as well. While their identities aren’t always accepted at home, this generation is looking for support online. A new survey by Tumblr found that almost half of their LGBTQ+ Gen Z users have shared their mental health journeys online, and over 75% have grown up in households where mental health is not discussed openly. YPulse has also found that social media platforms are one of the top places that Gen Z finds their sense of community outside of family and friends.
