PepsiCo is launching a “relaxation drink” to help people sleep. As young consumers continue to be stressed during the pandemic, PepsiCo is debuting a new drink in December to help put them at ease. “DriftWell,” a blueberry lavender flavored beverage that has “200 milligrams of L-theanine” and “10% the daily value of magnesium” promises to “de-stress” and “relax” drinkers. According to the company, they began working on the drink pre-pandemic. But between COVID and the upcoming holidays, the timing works out for consumers who are “juggling a lot of things and need sleep” especially as the concentration around sleep wellness and sleep hygiene has “massively increased in the last few years.” Our Wellness Intensified research found that 93% of 13-36-year-olds say quality of sleep is important to them.
