Parents are starting to crash their kids’ favorite apps. Houseparty (which hit 50 million new users last month) and TikTok continue to be go-to platforms for quarantined young people, but now parents are logging on as well. Going beyond just joining to do TikTok dance challenges with their kids, bored parents have “infiltrated nearly every corner of the app.” It’s a source of amusement and annoyance to their children, but it’s also highlighting the generational differences when it comes to technology as many older adults don’t know how to “mute themselves or flip the camera.” (NYTimes, WSJ, TechCrunch)
