PlayVS is starting esports teams at over two-thirds of U.S. high schools. PlayVS reports that 13,000 American high schools have formed esports teams or are on the wait list for starting one, making up 68% of all high schools in the NFHS network. Teens joining esports leagues could be looking at similar prospects to traditional sports players, too, as more colleges recruit esports teams. And even if the professional track doesn’t work out, PlayVS’s founder told us that video games teach teens about “meeting new friends and developing critical life skills.” (Inc.)
