Gen Z audiences reportedly want shorter movies. According to a new study by Talker Research, young Americans think the ideal movie length is just 82 minutes. Compared to Boomers (93 minutes), Gen X (89 minutes), and Millennials (86 minutes), Gen Z had the lowest average ideal movie length. Some new movies like Minions & Monsters, Jackass: Best and Last, and Toy Story 5 come close to this ideal movie length, though still ranging from 90 to 105 minutes. However, other soon-to-be-released movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey are significantly longer, going over 2.5 hours. YPulse data shows that while all those shorter titles made some of Gen Z’s summer movie bucket list, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the one at the top—so length won’t deter them for the right story.
